Quality Control Engineer/Technician
Job description
This is a full-time on-site role in Quality Control of lighting products including manufacturing and assembly, located in Cornwall, ON. The Quality Control Engineer/Technician will be responsible for monitoring manufacturing, assembly and testing, troubleshooting, providing technical support, performing preventive maintenance, and delivering excellent customer service for fluorescent and LED luminaires in-house and field service settings. This is an entry level to intermediate level position for a young, energetic, handy, friend and healthy individual in which you will be trained in each position to develop subject matter expertise. Occasional travel to customer job-sites in Canada and the USA may be required for triage or repair activities.
- Assemble electrical and mechanical components & lighting fixtures using hand tools, glue, and other materials
- Use measuring devices to ensure proper size and fit of components
- Inspect work for quality control
- Use measuring devices to ensure proper dimensions of components
- Install, maintain, and repair various types of lighting, equipment and systems in the field
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with lighting, equipment and systems
- Perform preventative maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance
- Provide technical support to customers and address their concerns or questions
- Document all service activities, including repairs, replacements, and maintenance performed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient and effective service delivery
- Monitor and Perform QC activities for assembly of luminaires
Qualifications
- Field Service and Troubleshooting skills
- Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues
- Skilled in the fabrication, installation, inspection, testing, adjustment and repair of electronic, electro-mechanical components & systems.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Technical Support and Preventive Maintenance skills
- Excellent Customer Service and English language skills
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics and diagrams
- Experience with electrical or mechanical industry, or formal education in engineering or technical fields is a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Able to lift up to 25 lbs, stand for extended periods, climb and work from ladders, use hand tools including a drill, multimeter, screwdriver etc…
- Must be able to travel without restriction, within North America.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 – 40 per week
